Today is day 1 on my liquid diet, only 13 more to go
. I know I can do this it just feels so overwhelming! I am getting freaked over the "after" surgery because I have opted not to tell anyone other than my husband, and he can't be there for the procedure or the first night or two when I get to my hotel (I'm doing this in Dallas, about 6 hrs away from home). I think what scares me about that is who will make me get up and walk and NOT take my pain meds before the 6 hours are up. I don't want to tell my family because my parents are both elderly and not in great health and my dad had an 8 month stint in the hospital fighting MRSA...it was awful!!! I also don't want to be perceived as being weak for having this surgery, and yes that would be their perception. I'm all good, I think I am just having normal doubts and questions. I keep thinking this time next month I will be starting on pureed foods and this will be a distant memory.
