I went in this morning for my endoscopy which I assume is pretty routine. However, just as I was walking into the door of my home, I received a call from my dr. He said that the biopsy of my stomach lining tested positive for H. pylori bacteria. I now have to take this antibiotic pack for the next 14 days. Does this sound familiar to any of you?

My biopsy came back negative for h. pylori. No cooties here, ladies!

Mine was neg also, It causes a low grade inflammation that can lead to ulcers and cancer...so they want to make sure its gone before surgery.

H Pylori is very common in the general population. Some people's stomach allow this bacteria to grow for some reason. We all have bacterias, viruses and fungus present at all times, it is when the one them gets out of the bodies normal check and balances that problems occur.

You are not contagious and the doctor is doing this a precaution to make sure your recovery goes well.
