Long vs Short Wait Time....necessary?

The first facility I interviewed required a 4 to 6 month waiting period before surgery even though my insurance requires one (Anthem BS CA). I'm interviewing another this Wednesday who only requires what the insurance requires. Pros/Cons on the waiting period? I know what to do, I need a tool to help me do it.

my journey was less then 2 months and I am doing well. while I am sure waiting would not have hurt me any, I am glad it is done and I am living a better life

I have lost 116lbs sine starting my pre-op diet in May. Surgery was June 22nd. I have about 20-30 more to go
