I'm just starting the whole process of applying for the lap band at BIDMC. I was wondering if people could give me feedback on their experience, both good and bad (if applicable). Also, which doctor did you use? I'm not sure which doctor I would like to request.

Hi, I,m fairly new to this site, On 1/29/07 I had my first appointment at the BIDH, blood work , met with the nurse and dr. H. Already been to two info meetings, My next appointments are on 2/13/ altrasound and nutritionist. Psch eval on 3/1 hope everything goes alright, Dr H seems I,m right on schedule and should not have any trouble W/ INS with my HBP. only thing that would slow my process is the altrasound of the G/B. Anybody else near these stages.

Does anybody else have harvard pilgrim Ins, if so how are they to work with for coverage, for the lap band , with a pre existing condition High blood pressure, and a BMIof 42

high blood pressure and a BMI that high will help your cause to get the band. I had Tufts at the time and my BMI was 47 and I had HBP. They approved me no problem.

I am doing fine. Whey drink was OK and I tried Proteidiet drink it was fine. Today I tried powdered goat's milk (I ordered that so that I would still have it after surgery). No matter what I put in it I couldn't cover the taste. It is awful! I don't know if I should try more or leave it alone. I haven't heard about insurance approval yet. Getting anxious. Medicare should OK it but my secondary is Commonwealth Indemnity??? Everyone sounds good. Rainbow, congrats about the picture. I can't even do the ticker at the bottom. On Sat. I am going to RI to visit family again. I won't be "talking to you" from the 4th til the 13th. Glad everyone is good. I am sorry Kay about the death in the family. That is sad. Nana
