What did u have on hand before surgery???

Well I have looked everywhere to see if there is a list of what you bought prior to surgery. I know that I will need:

SF Popsicles

Protein shake samples

Gas X strips

SF Jello

FF broth

Crystal Lite

Anything else that anyone can think of?? I still have about 3 months to go but would like to get everything sooner rather then later since the kids will soon be out of school and summer is always hectic.

If you can get some small plastic ware containers that you divide out your portions, I found that really helped me.

Also, for full liquid stage, you can have sf puddings and custards. I bought the stuff in the box, not the snack packs and I used the little plasticware containers to freeze little portions.

These are the ones I bought, and they came in super handy. I still use them for "on the go" stuff. They measure 4ounces which was perfect for the full liquid stage, and even mushy stage.

Thanks those are a great idea. I just looked a drugstore.com (love that site), and they have these on sale right now 2 sets of these will cost me $4.98!!! And since I have other stuff to get I will get free shipping. THANKS

Never had SF Custard. I may have to try that to see!

I bought very little before surgery. Seems many people had said that their tastes changed so I waited to see what sounded good at the time : )

I did have Protein shakes on hand because I was already using them as well as crystal lite. You will definitely want the gasx strips with you at the hospital if you are staying over night.

We stopped at the grocery store on the way home from the airport and I bought things that sounded good: yogurt, SF pudding, cottage cheese, potato Soup, mashed potatoes, apple juice. Also chicken broth - I got the paste that comes in a smaller jar? It's at my office now and I don't remember the name of it. It was better tasting tho that broth from a can or cubes.

Happy planning!

Okay after reading through more posts a Tongue scraper and Lysterine strips are being added to the list.
