worried about getting surgery with dr almanzo now :S

hi everyone....

my mom and i booked our surgeries and put a deposit down this week (surgery date is jan 15) but recently there have been a lot of posts about people getting infections from this clinic :S i really want this surgery and i cant back out since we already put our deposit down but im scared :( i work at a walk in clinic and my mom used to work at a hospital so we both know how to do dressing changes on wounds and i plan on bringing doctors gloves and basic materials for changing dressings as well as basic first aid with me and insist that the nurses wear the gloves when doing anything with our wounds...will this be good enough? i also read that there was a package of stitches that were compromised do you think they will have that fixed by january? :o im getting really freaked out! any advice anyone has got would be good thanks :sneaky2: im freaking out and just need someone to calm me down lol

You will be fine. i had an infection any in one of my incisions. My doctor here at home said to me that the skin carries a lot of bacteria. He just up the antibody and it went away. i really liked the people there and I recieved really good care.

I was worried about this also Lauren. I was 2 weeks away (my Christmas gift) to putting my deposit with Dr. Almanza. I've decided to go with another surgeon. 50% of the decision was the infection issue and the other 50% is the stitch removal. Im really a sucker and I have had laproscopic surgery before. I would prefer stitches that dissolve.

I wish you the best.
