WOW... so many things going through my mind, mostly excitement. I am sure the nervousness of going under and hoping to wake up will come tomorrow. I have surgery at 1:30pm and have to stop fluids tonight at 5pm.... it will be a long ride and wait for that surgery and can only imagine how thirsty I'll be ... did anyone out there have worries about things like not being able to just freely drink things anymore?

What was it like the day before your surgery??

Chandra,

I'm not sleeved yet, but you're going to do fine. Anyone from Midland can handle this ....it'll be easy-peasy.....lol.

Ok....seriously.. just follow orders and realize you can tolerate anything for a short time. Please post when you get home and let us know how you're doing!

Chandra, I had surgery 4 weeks ago. I had such faith in my surgeon I really didn't have much anxiety. I arrived at the hospital about 6:00 am and waited until almost 10:00 am to go back to surgery. I was so full of anticipation that it really went pretty fast. I knew I couldn't have anything to drink so I just didn't think about it. Good luck to you.

by the way...doctors sure are different for all these procedures.

I can eat the night before (anything I want) and can drink up until 10 p.m.

Someone else mentioned having to have a laxative for three days prior to surgery day and only clear fluids for three days prior....not me! (thank goodness, that would totally ruin my vacation prior to surgery!).

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
