Hi Everyone

I was banded on March 2, 2006. I had my first fill 6 weeks later (1.4cc) I just had my second fill yesterday (5-15-06) (2.6cc). I am noticing a big difference with the second fill. With the first fill I had some restriction for about 2 weeks-- but, I still lost 7 lbs. I am down a total of 21 lbs. Started at 231 and am now at 210. This morning I drank a Slimfast and it took me 2 hours. I am pretty tight but I wanted to be really aggressive this month. Hoping in a month to be down below 200. I have loved the band-- however I had the gas pain in my shoulder for a long time after surgery (3 weeks). I loved my experience-- I had my band done in Monterrey, Mexico. I would do it all over again if I had to. Hoping to reach my goal of 140 by jan. 2007. I hope to meet a lot of of you here and share our band stories.

Hi Bandedbabe,

Welcome to LBT and congrats on your weight loss so far. I was also banded in Monterrey, Mexico. Who was your doc? Rodriguez, Rumbaut? I had mine done on March 7th by Dr. Rumbaut so our band-day's aren't too far apart.

Good luck on your weight loss journey. Keep in touch.

I really am happy with my loss, and am going tomorrow for a consultation for surgery... I was going to cancel because they told me that the breast reduction would be covered by insurance (as long as I had enough tissue to remove to not consider it a lift) but that the tummy tuck would not be covered by insurance. I as told before I had the surgery that it would be covered because of the extra skin I'd have... so I guess I will still go and see what they say.

Make sure you explain all this to the plastic surgeon. It may make a difference in his diagnosis which may change the CPT code, which may mean all the difference in insurance coverage. The doctor won't lie to the insurance company (or he shouldn't) but there are many ways to de-fur a feline - and he wants the business.
