I started at 231 and I am now at 160!!!!!! I am wearing a size 8-- (people say there is no way that I weigh 160 - that I look so much smaller). Anyway, I feel great and I can't wait to lose the last 20 lbs or so!

Well, not really but, I have 3 kids and I had some excess skin from that (not much, more wrinkly than anything). But, I want to have a couple of more kids and then get a tummy tuck. But, the skin on my arms and legs looks really good. Congrats on the surgery-- I have loved it and I have been really aggressive with my fills. I think that is the key!

since I got my band!!!! I love it. I am down 60 lbs and in a size 10!!! If anyone is thinking about getting the band done I would highly recommend it!! It has been such a great thing for me and I am feeling so great. Tomorrow for Thanksgiving I am doing a Turkey Trot and it is 6 miles!!!!! No drinking here. It just makes me PB. Before the band I could drink 5 large glasses. Now, I just get it in a to go cup and drink it later.

You don't have to go to Mexico to have the surgery--but, it is usually cheaper. I had my band done by Dr. Sanchez in Monterrey, Mexico. It was a wonderful experience!! But, obviously they don't accept insurance in Mexico--so, if you can get insurance to pay for it I would go that route.

I was banded by Dr. Sanchez on 3-2-06. I loved everything about my experience. Mario met us at the airport and took us to the hospital. Mario was wonderful-- he was our driver the whole time and took us sightseeing and shopping. The guest house is wonderful. Alma, Melaina, and Dr. Sanchez are so amazing! The hospital was great!!! I have not regretted my decision to go to Mexico or to have my band done by Dr. Sanchez. Are you a member of their chat group? Everything that everyone says about the experience is true ( I was a little skeptical) but, the experience was as people said. The recovery was a little harder for me than I thought it would be. I did go shopping 2 days after but, I was miserable. The worst part for me was the shoulder pain-- if it were not for that I would have been great! (Not everyone experiences the shoulder pain)-- it lasted for about 3.5 weeks (it is from the gas that they use) I have had 2 fills now and I am down 24 lbs. I love the whole Dr. Sanchez Team!!!

I am so excited to find the March 2006 group. I was banded by Dr. Sanchez in Monterrey, Mexico. I had a great experience. I am down 24 lbs. The second fill has been very restrictive (maybe to much). Not keeping much down. I can eat maybe 3 bites of food-- I have had most of everything I eat come back up. Staying on liquids now-- everything else hurts to much. Highest: 231 Surgery: 231 1st Fill: 217 (1.7cc)- 4-17-06 2nd Fill: 210 (2.6cc)- 5-15-06 Today: 207 Goal: 130

Hi Everyone I was banded on March 2, 2006. I had my first fill 6 weeks later (1.4cc) I just had my second fill yesterday (5-15-06) (2.6cc). I am noticing a big difference with the second fill. With the first fill I had some restriction for about 2 weeks-- but, I still lost 7 lbs. I am down a total of 21 lbs. Started at 231 and am now at 210. This morning I drank a Slimfast and it took me 2 hours. I am pretty tight but I wanted to be really aggressive this month. Hoping in a month to be down below 200. I have loved the band-- however I had the gas pain in my shoulder for a long time after surgery (3 weeks). I loved my experience-- I had my band done in Monterrey, Mexico. I would do it all over again if I had to. Hoping to reach my goal of 140 by jan. 2007. I hope to meet a lot of of you here and share our band stories.

That sounds really strange. Everyone I talked to says right up front -- the band does not work without the fills. VERY STRANGE!!! I don't understand why anyone would tell you that.
