question

Can a person actually stretch the small stomach by overeating and if they did would an adjustment fix the problem?

Would it take only one time of eating way too much or continuously overstuffing yourself?

Thanks in advance for your responses

I am copying my answer from another thread......

I just wanted to add that my Dr. said that the little part of the stomach at the top above that band will not stretch. The pt's that have the RNY either have a bigger pouch then us or their pouch is further down where the stomach will stretch. Every dr may say something different, just wanted to add what mine said...hope this helps!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Kelly's answer makes sense to me, because otherwise I think there'd be less discomfort when I eat too much.

That said, the stomach itself is of course elastic. It can be permanently stretched out of shape but I doubt one would be physically ABLE to abuse the pouch formed by the band in that way. Your esophagus would go first, it seems to me.
