Too tight advice

I was banded on December 28, 2012 and am down 45 pounds. It has been a SLOW process! I just had my 4th fill. I could not keep anything down the first 2 days and now I can take only tiny bites of soft foods. Tonight I tried tiny bites of chicken, chewed very thoroughly but it came up. :( I am not really hungry but I am getting no nutrition in at all. SO my question is do I need an unfill or will it stretch a little? My first three fills I didn't have really any restriction at all. I am afraid to get an unfill because the weight loss has been so slow but I am not getting much in at all, which I know can't be good.

It sounds to me like you need a slight unfill. I had the same problem back in April and ended up having 1/2 a cc taken out. It made a HUGE difference. Please call your doctor, you should be able to eat small amounts of food without getting sick.

I too was banded on 12/28/12 and still have not hit that sweet spot and because of that I have not lost much either.

I truly have to work at watching what I eat because I could still eat more than a cupful of food and still be hungry. I'm going for another post op check on Monday. I hope and pray I hit the sweet spot because right now I'm struggling.

I go to TX for the entire month of July. My doctor is in St Petersburg , FL. I don't want to wind up in an ER because of getting sick and have to be hospitalized.best wishes to you.

I would also suggest a "tiny" defill.

Just curious... what size bites are you taking... from day one of starting solid food my doctor told me to take bites the size of my baby finger nail and make sure I finish what I have in my mouth before I take my second or third bite. I never really thought about it until I was banded that I would sometimes but by second or third or even my fourth spoonful of food into my mouth even before I finished my first mouthful.

I've never been "stuck"... touch wood... and when I started my journey I actually said to myself in my head take tiny bites... one at a time... it really worked for me.

I agree with the other folks, a slight unfill, even .1 or .2 cc makes a big difference.

Thank you everyone. I will call Monday for a little "unfill".
