Shrimp tacos!

Recommended Posts

I made some delicious shrimp tacos tonight and wanted to share the recipe with you all.

4 ounces raw shelled deveined shrimp

1 tbs onion

1/4 tsp butter

1 tsp shredded cheese

1 tsp guacamole or plain avocado

1 tsp sour cream

6 inch tortilla of your preference

A wedge of lime or lemon

Sauté onion and butter until soft then add in shrimp and sauté until shrimp is cooked through. Toast tortilla in dry nonstick pan. Layer all ingredients on tortilla, shrimp then cheese then the rest, and top with a squeeze of citrus.

Delish! And my fitness pal clocks it at around 250 calories and 22 grams Protein for one taco.

Enjoy!

I'm not a fan of shrimp but you are so lucky to eat tortillas, I can't even handle a single bite -__- what's your secret?

I live in Texas, so I get them fresh, still hot off the maker at the store, and chew really well. I think them being super fresh helps a lot. I've tried the pre packaged ones and cannot do that myself either.

I've gone to like Mexican restaurants that advertise fresh (I'm in so cal as well so we have our share of Mexican food as well), but no matter how I try I can't do it. And it never ends well for me -__- last time I had it, I threw up like 3 times until finally the offending piece came up

How big a bite are you taking? I usually eat bites no bigger than my thumb nail, and I like my tacos very moist with sour cream guac etc, then I chew at least 30 seconds before swallowing, even have a timer.I think for me the fresh ones break up smaller, where the pre packaged ones don't even with all the chewing. Don't know if you might try it again or not. I should also mention I am a month out and only one fill in, but still definitely in my green zone as far as restriction.

Ah I'm 4 months in and 3 fills I'm very restricted. I think tortillas are just a trigger food for me. It's like how some people have problems with beef but I can handle it fine. After the first fill, I gut stuck on a tortilla but it went down on its own like 5 min later, then I didn't attempt it again, until a few weeks ago, and there was just no way it was going down

No more tortillas for me either.....or any bread - flour products....I eat shrimp, but have to take them very slow...same with lobster, scallops, etc....

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
