Weird Sensation

Twice today I had something new happen. I had a bit of pain around the port site, then when I placed my hand there, I could feel my port. I mean it was actually sticking out so that you didn't even have to look for it. What was that?

Robin,

I have NO idea.

But if you have any concern, please call your surgeons office and tell them. If anything, they will note it in your chart for any future problems.

Robin,

You didn't say this was new for your port, but I assume that it is from the way that you're questioning it.

Personally, I would contact my band doctor and let him know. Even if it's a phone call to the office to tell them.

I realize that you posted this on 4/26/06. I hope you've gotten it resolved by now.

It's hasn't happened again. I'm wondering if it could have been because I lifted some boxes that day. They weren't real heavy, but there were several.

I can feel my port all the time. And it hurts on a regular basis. But I'm hoping it's just post op. type pain. The doc placed it right under a big scar from an exploratory surgery I had a long time ago so I'm thinking that maybe all the scar tissue is irritating the port. Oh well. No pain, no gain!
