I find it surreal that I'm here, the night before my new lease on life. I went for my first consultation back in 2006 but financially things just didn't work out. A few months ago, while shopping for jeans, a had a serious breakdown. I went to nearly 10 stores looking for my size jeans in Tall length...no such luck. I sat in my car and sobbed for nearly 30 minutes then went home, empty handed. The very next afternoon, I attended a seminar. A few weeks later i started saving and planning (self pay). A few weeks after that, i called and made my appointment. And here I am!

I am beyond grateful for this opportunity! Going to try to get some sleep (yea right!) surgery at 6:30 a.m.!!

Congrats and hang in there. My first 7 days after surgery were hard, but then it's like nothing happened.

I felt like you. A new life is right!

Congratulations! I was self pay also!

I feel your pain on finding jeans in long lengths. No matter what size you are it's a challenge. Some longs just aren't long enough!

I hope your surgery was a success and your resting comfortably at home right now!

Thank you all so much! Surgery went good, they repaired a large hernia. At home now sipping, warm blanket across my back & shoulders and walking laps around my house every hour. Gas pains are intense, but otherwise I'm doing good :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
