Did any of you have to have this procedure done prior to your surgery? If so what are they looking for and why?

I had it done, they are just looking to make sure the inside of your esophagus and stomach are healthy. They can see if you have any tummy ulcers or any thing else that might prevent you from being a good band candidate.

I had it done as well, same thing - making sure the stomach and esophagus are healthy.

What happens if you don't have an endoscopy prior to surgery? I have not had one, and my surgery is a month and a half away.
