Bandster hell?

I believe I'm going through bandster hell. I was banded 12/3/12 but had port revision 2/8/13 due to kink in my tubing. I'm doing ok but the hunger is unreal. I eat plenty of protein and measure and count calories but I get hungry about 2hrs every time. This has been tough and a test of self control. Is this bandster hell? My doctor won't do a fill till next week. Having 2 surgeries in 2 months he wants me to heal more.

Yes, it's very much bandster hell.

The way I survived it was I spread out my calories so I could eat every 2 hours. I never ate more than a cup of food and never went over my daily calorie allowance, but by budgeting my calories so I could eat every 2 hours I was able to control the hunger and still lose weight despite being in bandster hell.

I know bandster hell sucks but just remember it's temporary. Hang in there!

Just out of curiosity so we know what to look for...how exactly did you come to find out your tubing was kinked? I haven't heard of that yet on this site? Good luck with everything, sorry you had to have a second surgery already =(

I went for a fill. They put 1.5cc in and realized it was too much. They went to take it out and it wouldn't release the fluid. After 7hours and numerous attempts by different doctors, they decided to look under fluoro and they noticed when they put contrast in that it was only filling one side of the band. When they attempted to pull the contrast out. It wouldn't come back out. The port moved due to weight loss before the scar tissue formed enough to keep port in its place. When it moved it caused a kink. They say it happens less than 2% but leave it to me to be one of them. I did all my homework and weighed all pros and cons and never heard of this either. I'm 4weeks post op today and starting to get back to normal. I go for a fill next week so maybe bandster hell will be lil easier to manage.
