Worried that I messed up.

Hi everyone! I'm very new to this so please be patient with me. I was banded on Jan. 18th, when I went to have my first fill on Feb. 18th I had lost 12.6 lbs. I'm really excited about it but this is what worries me, I totally cheated on my post op diet. I ate soft foods after a couple days and by the end of the week I was eating pretty much like normal only very carefully(chewing etc) The nurse said that she thinks that I probably am just fine and didn't do damage to my band, placement etc. She said that we wouldn't really know until I start getting fills and we'll just wait and see. What do you think my chances are that I didn't do real damage? I'm just so afraid I've messed myself up. Thanks in advance!

  • I wouldn't waste my time worrying about it! Chances are everything is fine! Don't waste energy on things that are over with and no longer in your control! I will say that you are not the first or will

I wouldn't waste my time worrying about it! Chances are everything is fine! Don't waste energy on things that are over with and no longer in your control! I will say that you are not the first or will be the last to have done this! In the future remember how upset you were thinking about doing damage to your band. This might help you to avoid slip ups in the future! Relax, everything will be fine.

More than likely, you're fine. I didn't cheat on the pre-op diet, but I was eating normally after 1 week post-op. I ate fried rice the day after surgery, very little, but still. I've had no complications with my band. I think you'll be just fine.
