What insurance will cover!!???

Hi I'm new here!! Wanting to get lap band done ASAP!!! I have AHCCCS insurance. I have history showing all the diets I've tried and have never really succeeded the weight comes back once I get off the diet pill. I am 5"10 and 255 pounds. I have birth to my baby girl 2010. And then recently this past September gave birth to twins and reached 300 pounds before dilivery! Will AHCCCS approve me or is it best I have my bf (father of my kids) put me on his insurance united health care plus choice?? I wanna get it done ASAP. Anyone know about this???

You'll have to contact your insurance and find out. Every plan has their own requirements and rules. Plus, not all insurance companies provide the same things to all employers, for instance employers could specifically request weight loss surgery isn't covered.

Just give them a call and ask, I'm sure you'll get lots of info.

as mis said, that is up to your insurance..just have all your t's and i's dotted and underlined.....btw congrats on a healthy baby. wishing you nothing but luck

united health csre /medicare paid all but $2000 so u need to check.

Right so I have an appt this Monday with my primary care doctor who is also an weight loss doctor. I'm going to ask him about the lap band and if he thinks I'm eligible and if my insurance will approve it. I will gladly get it, if he thinks otherwise I will take it as a hint that if its meant to be everything will turn out fine and I will get approved!! If it doesn't its not meant to be and I just keep trying different things to help me loose weight! I have tried them all, phentermine, anti depressants that help u loose weight, herbalife, hydroxycut, green tea pill, fruta planta. Spent crazy money on diet pills. i succeeded only once right before my senior year. Was off pills and eating what i wanted but became a natural athlete to burn it off. however became pregnant and thats where it ended. And i have been trying ever since. I recently lost a lot if weight this past year THINKING it was due to my sertraline anti depressant little knowing my portions decreased dramatically because I was pregnant with twins. :-(. Feel down because I don't know Wat will happen. And they all say its how bad you want it! But u know how bad you want it when ur on these medications trying! Trying jogging, running, insanity, p90X, Zumba!!whats left to do.

I have united health care choice plus as well. But my husbands employers stated that they excluded all obesity related surgeries out of our plan. :'-( BUT that was up to my husbands employer. SO I'm going to appeal my insurance company to see if they will pay for it. My fist seminar is in feb so ill find out more info on if I should or not.

I also had a friend that had the exact same insurance and UHC choice plus covered it 100%.

Good luck and let me kno what u find out. Thanks :-)
