What does Push Notifications mean?

I am looking under notification preferences and don't know the difference between:

Notification List

Email

Push Notifications

Not sure what checking or unchecking does for these options.

Great question!

Here's is an explanation of each.

Notification list: This feature can be found at the top right of every page, if you're logged in. Instead of receiving an email, you can be notified about items you select, only when you log into our community.

Email: This is pretty self explanatory :D

Push Notifications: These notifications are meant to only work if you have our mobile app installed on your smartphone or tablet device.
