Lap band question

Hello,

I am trying to get the lap band procedure done but my insurance declined it even as a medical necessity. They said my employer blocked obesity procedures from police. Has anyone experienced this? Was there a way to dispute it?

  • I wonder if they meant to say from the "policy"?

Sorry. I meant policy. Lol. Well. I am considering an option for surgery in Mexico. I researched weightlossagents.com. Did anyone hear any good or bad things about that?

  • I would try to arrange something near where you live, and ongoing care and support are very important.

Many employers block access to bariatric surgery but I don't understand the police comment? What do the police have to do with WLS?

If your insurance plan has no bariatric provision you will have to pay for it yourself. Sorry.

Lucky I had insurance but mine cost $37,000 for out patient in Cottage hospital in Santa Barbara. So a cash deal would still cost $16-18000.
