Gaining too much weight

Recommended Posts

I am currently 3 months+ pregnant and have gained too much weight. When I found out that I was pregnant 6 weeks ago, I went to my Dr and had an unfill. I have since gained 15 lbs and a considering going back for a small fill. I am constantly hungry and am only satisfied for about a couple hours at a time. Has anyone else had this issue? Has anyone gotten a fill while pregnant?

no I haven't but wondering why you would have to unless you were feeling unconfotable.

I got an unfill because I felt like I wasn't able to eat enough for the baby to get enough nutrients. Now I feel like the dr took out too much.

Talk to your OBGYN before even considering a fill while pregnant.

Your body and your baby need the nutrients. A lot of surgeons give pregnant women complete unfills because they don't want to risk the baby not getting the necessary nourishment. I've never heard of a pregnant woman getting a fill.

Talk to your doctor and good luck

I did and he wants me to come back in. I was wondering because I've read where some people didn't have any removed.

Congrats on your pregnancy. Also, since you will be eating more and likely snacking more, make sure you are choosing healthy options. Have fruit, veggies, etc. not junk and you should be ok and not gain excessively.

I have a friend who continued to get fills threw out her pregnancy. I do not believe her obgyn was for it but she did it anyways. She gave birth to a very small baby. 4 lbs and she was a full 40 weeks. Most people either stay where they are at or have some removed due to swelling making them uncomfortable.

I had just had my band completley unfilled due to a complication right before I found out I was preggers. I am now 23 weeks and have gained 11 lbs. It is very hard to stay on track because I could eat anything I wanted and believe me I have plenty of cravings. But I make sure to get my Protein, dairy, fruits, and veggies in first then if I'm still hungry later in the day I let myself have something that I want. But usually after getting in what I need I'm not usually hungry anymore.

Best thing for me has been using the chart the doc gave me saying what portions I need to consume from each food group and examples of each so I can switch it up and KEEP MOVING! Believe me I know exercise is the last thing on your mind right now cause sleep sounds fabulous but just a 15 minute walk a day with a glass of oj will boost your energy and help ya burn calories.

The group I use (Fielding, Ren, etc in NYU) do not at all believe in automatically unfilling all pregnant bandsters. They only do so if there's a reason to believe the baby is not getting enough nutrients/growing enough.

I am 11 weeks pregnant and had gained nothing and was throwing up a lot so they took out 1 cc BUT promised me they would put half of it back in a month if I felt it was necessary (I guess if I suddenly gained an insane amount of weight).

At this point I feel very little restriction but am thrilled to not be throwing up all day anymore. I gained about 2 lbs since the unfill (around 2 weeks ago) and at this point am leaning towards leaving things as is (if only the heartburn would go away. . . )

I think if you are gaining too much and are constantly hungry, a small fill is not out of order.

I had my baby last march and when I found out I was pregnant my doctor didn't want me to get a fill. Then after I had the baby I was brestfeeding and my doctor told me he didn't want me to get a fill because if I started to throw up and i might not getting enough nutrients for my Milk. So I waited until I stopped to get a fill. The only thing is I gained my weight back. Now that I got my fill I can't get back on track. It's hard.

I gained all of my weight back during both of my pregnancies due to having my Fluid out. Boy was it hard to lose it the second time around compared to losing before ever having children.

I would consider having a small fill, especially if your hungry and not satisfied with a smaller portion. This pregnancy I am attempting to keep my Fluid in and not gain as much as previously.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
