What To Expect For Initial Appointment?

Hello everyone- I have my first appointment with my surgeon on December 11 and have no idea what to expect. All I know is that I am meeting with the RN and Nutritionist at his practice as well. What should I expect to happen that day?

Thanks!!

When I had my first appointments like that, the surgeon was mostly making sure you are a good canidate for surgery and that you are sure and that you know what is involved. The nutritionist just walks you through what changes you are going to be going through, and why they are needed. It's pretty helpful.

Obviously every Dr is different.. but for me it went like this.

I was weighed, BMI measured, vitals taken. Then I met with the Dr and he spent about a half hour telling me about the procedure, how it works, the risks, what would happen next....what I must do to be successful and mostly an overall getting to know me type of visit.

In my case I was comfortable with him immediatly. I had been to see another Dr and also went to a seminar for another.... I was pretty much sold on the procedures but not the Dr or office staff. But with the Dr I selected it was instant comfort!

Thank you for replying! They took your blood right then and there? Wow! Do I need any medical history from my primary doctor? I've read nothing but great reviews about my surgeon so I hope I'm not let down when I meet him.

Thanks again!!
