Like Amy, I recommend Surgical Specialists of Louisiana in Covington, LA. My surgeon was Thomas Lavin from that group. You'll be in good hands if you choose them. Best of luck to you!

I live in Shreveport, but and there are several doctors here. But I chose the doctors in Texarkana and have been VERY pleased. Let me know if you need more information. You didn't really say what part of the state you were looking in.

Hey everyone. I am from Monroe Lousiana and I just recently had the lap band procedure done on April Fools Day! I did not have the procedure done in the states. I went to Tiajuana Mexico. At first I was a little strung out on the fact that it was gonna be done in Mexico. Face it, you hear things about Mexico. Total Transformations Company escorted a group of about 6 people down there. To my amazement the place was very nice and clean (they even did stem cell research there) It was a huge hospital attached to a very nice hotel. The doctors were very humble (not like here) they actually discussed the details of the surgery very well. I ran out of questions to ask before they ran out of time to answer them, and they studied here in louisiana at Tulane and LSU. An hour before the surgery I had a panic attack (boy was I freaking out) and the surgeon came in, held my hand and helped me get through it. After my sugery I was up that night walking and was fine. I had no reactions to the medication and they medicated me very well for pain. (same medications we uses here) All the equipment was up to date. Oh and the surgery room overlooked a beautiful valley in mexico. I recommend the surgery center to anyone and I would go back for more plastic surgery or fills. If anyone is interested in getting information about it, then just let me know or call total transformation in monroe and speak to Debrah or James Raspberry. My exoperice here in louisiana with my fills has been a total different situation.:angry

I went back to the same doctor in Monroe, La as i did before.. She stuck me once in the wrong area with lidocaine.. (she had a fluoro) then she stuck me again in a different spot with lidocaine.. She then began sticking me to find my port, but she never found it.. I felt everything.. She said becasue the lidocaine was not where my port was.. It was too deep. I believe she overdosed me on lidocaine because i fainted, tried to throw up, and almost had a seizure.. Almost lost my self control of B and B. I was scared to death. This was my second fill .. She never got it.. Finally i got up the nerve to go back to redo it.. and she got it just fine then,.. anyone else had that experience,?:omg:

Hi, my name is Ebony I am an recently turned 20 year old from New Orleans, LA. I am a pre-med stundent at Xavier University. I just wanted to know if WishOnAStar could give me a bit more info on where you got ur surgery done and what are the prices there. I really want and need the surgery but I cannot afford to have it done in the U.S. and I've heard that it is less expensive in Mexico but I have never talked to someone with personal experience.
