Anyone Doing The Insanity Workout?

I have it but never did it. I'm doing TAPOUT XT...Brutal! lol

Banded 9/7/12 231lbs, Goal 145lbs...221lbs as of 10/14/12

It's been a while but I use to do insanity- it is a very intense workout and certainly not meant for everyone.

If you have knee or back issues it is definitely not recommended as many of the aspects of insanity are very high cardio intense workouts.

Some of the common things they do are:

around the world has you doing power squats (jumping from a squat into another squat in four different locations)

Power push-ups - you go from a push up stance and push yourself up then do a jump (similar to the up and downs football players do)

Suicide push-ups - these mix jumping jacks with push ups, as you push out you spread your legs out as you push down you bring them back in

Normal née highs

Just a few examples but the goal at least for the fit test is to do as many as you possibly can. I'm not fit to do insanity anymore but with the lapband hoping to get back there soon!

I love, love, LOVE the Insanity workout. I've done it all the way through once, and will pop in a work out here and there. I did the Pure Cardio circut about a month ago, and afterwards had some pretty intense pain around my port. The workout involves a lot of hitting the floor, jumping, and ab work that didn't agree with my port. I passed it by my doc and he told me to ease off. It's okay to do but avoid a few of the sudden abdominal moves.

I do insanity 3x a week. I do it at my pace, some of the exercises that i cant do I substitute them with a different type of exercise.

  • 3 weeks later...

I wish I had a copy of the insanity DVD.im too cheap and poor to buy one at full price.

Well hit me with it..
