Plan For First Fill In Radiology

My doctor says because of the depth of my port he will probably be doing the fills in radiology so as to aid in visualization. Has anyone had this done?

I just had this done wednesday. It's simple you lay on this table they pull a machine over you then poof there is a pic of your insides on a tv screen and the doc knows there the port is. The fill itself feels a little weird. It's over quick, don't worry.

i havent had any fills yet but my dr only does fills this way

2 months ago, they xrayed my insides and it was pretty interesting to watch

the barium go through

My doctor does all fills under floroscopy. I stand and they find my port, stick the needle in, then they look at my band and stomach after they have added fluid. I drink some yucky stuff and they see how fast it flows through, if it goes to fast they add more, to slow they take some out. Not a big deal.

So I can go to work after it is done? Anyone had any problems?

Nope never had any problems. I always go home and work out afterwards and then cook dinner for my hubs and I have my shake.
