October 2, 201213 yr I'm not losing weight. And besides filling the band is very expensive. It filled me and cut me several times and nothing works.
October 2, 201213 yr Without knowing any details - how long you've been banded, your dietary plan, your fill zone, etc....all I can really suggest is if you're feeling like this, rally with your doctor and your nutritionist. Maybe there is something in your plan that is preventing the weight loss.

October 2, 201213 yr I'm not losing weight. And besides filling the band is very expensive. It filled me and cut me several times and nothing works. are you eating over a cup of food at one time? are you eating junk or high fat foods or processed sodium laden foods? do you eat Protein first and then veggies?? are you drinking throughout the day? are you exercising? the band works but you have to help the band
October 2, 201213 yr Author I'm sorry. I could communicate more with you because English is not my language. Perhaps this is why support groups have not helped me. I'll tray to explain.
October 2, 201213 yr Author My surgery was in February this year. I lost 30 pounds in the process before surgery. After surgery I lost 9 pounds more. In the first filling all went well, I think it was 3. The second filling I reach 5. I could not swallow anything without the help of water, everything was stuck and I vomited. And from there that even though I was down to three and a half nothing went well. Do not get fat but not lose weight. I'm hungry as I don't have the band.
October 2, 201213 yr Author Thank you to everybody for your help. I will try to be here for motivation. I'm scared, I'm filling depress. I put a lot of expectations in the surgery and I feel that it did not work.
October 3, 201213 yr You are still too tight. I have 3 ccs in an 11 cc band and it is perfect for me. If you can't keep down solid protein you will not lose. Good luck.

Try tuna & salmon in pouch or can. Fresh or frozen fish in pouch you can grill, steam or pan saute in a little butter or oil. Cottage cheese, eggs, string cheese, yougurt, edamame, chicken, beef & pork are all good sources of Protein. Just make sure meat & chicken are moist- add broth to them after cooking. Your band can be tight and you will still be hungry if you can't keep down solid protein!
October 4, 201213 yr Author Thank you jrae. I do not know if is normal to feel I have something blocking the passage of the band? Only feel this when eat eggs or bread. I vomiting with other foods (pasta, tortillas, beef, ham, letucce, cabbage, apple, pears, etc.) I only can eat soup, mashed potatoes, very small pieces of chicken mixed with broth.
October 5, 201213 yr hi...actually we are not advised to eat bread..pasta....but if u do eat it...chew for a long time and then swallow....vomiting all the time is bad for the band my doctor said......take care...

You should NOT feel blocking! You are too tight but also the foods you listed are not good for your band! You shouldn't eat anything that "gums" up- tortillas, bread, Pasta. Fruit with skins can be a problem too. Also you won't feel satisfied eating soup & mashed potatoes- these are slider foods that go thru the band easily but won't help you lose weight. Did your dr give you a sample diet? Did you see a nutritionist? Look under the "food" threads on this site for ideas. And GO SEE your dr! :-)
