Losing Your Security

Lately, I've been close to tears bc I'm not sure if I want to lose all this security I've wrapped myself in. I love... fitting into smaller clothes, not taking all the meds, not sweating all the time, & feeling better all around. But, I feel like I'm really really losing a part of me, of who I am. And strangely enough I don't like when people compliment me on my looks. Am I alone in this?

I would love to hear more opinions on this also. This is one of my main concerns, how to deal with this exact feeling.

I hear ya I an new to the lapband and already worried about being a success I've never won the weight game. All I can think about is food. I can wait to hear more people about this and what to do.

To me this reads as a psychological issue...and your beliefs and thoughts regarding your self concept should be addressed with a mental health professional who works with a bariatric population.

Weight does influence your overall health state...so it is essential for your beliefs to become aligned with your weight loss.

Best wishes for this side trip along with your journey...

I think a lot of people hid behind their fat. For me I have always been the wall flower, never the popular girl. Things are changing as I lose weight I can't hide behind it anymore. Actually I like it, for me I always felt I was being judged due to my weight, but now I feel like I am being seen for me. I know it's crazy, but weight does affect our emotions.
