HiI. I am 64 and had my lapbands surgery in Mexico on June 22. Is there anyone who is on blood thinners and getting fills? If so, have you had problems or issues because of the blood thinner medication? I would appreciate any information!

Thanks!

I am on blood thinner (XARELTO) and had no problem with the one fill that I had last month. I was in a-fib, was totally unaware I was, until the endoscopic exam I had to undergo to get banded. Thank God for the pre-op requirement! Probably saved my life. I'm curious why you would think blood thinner medication might be a problem with having a fill? You don't bleed getting a fill. The needle is very small, in fact I didn't even feel it. Oh, and I'm 69 and might just be the oldest on this forum. :))) I got my band July 25, 2012. Ask the doctor where you get your fill on any concerns you might have. That is why they have taken on your care. Good luck to you.
