Question

Does anyone know how much fluid is put into your band originally at the time of surgery? Is it filled at all? Or just put in place and fluid fills don't start till after you're completely healed? I got banded 18 July and after the first week or so, can't feel any restriction and can eat whatever, whenever, as fast as I want...with no concequences. It would only make sense if my band was empty, right??!

Most people are banded with little or nothing in their band. Because of this, most recover from surgery and realize they can still eat exactly like they did before surgery. It usually takes multiple

I had 4.2 ml put in at surgery, two weeks later another . 8ml, two weeks after that .5 ml and this Tuesday I will be getting my third fill, I have some restriction and don't feel as hungry between meals, not in green zone yet. A lot of it is still self control and learning for me at the moment, some days harder than others but I wouldn't change a thing. Best decision I made this lapband!

Mine was unfilled at surgery. 6 weeks had first fill.

Looks like ticker is missing part of the text, remove it and real do it again. May fix issue

Mine was empty at surgery. Got my first fill (5 cc's) 1 month later. But I still felt some restriction.... and since I tend to be a "puker" (lol).... I wasn't taking any chances on overeating. lol Plus, I'm determined to reach my goal because I've had it with this mess of being obese so I stick to the diet whether I feel restriction or not. :-)

My props to you all that can stick to the diet despite feeling no restriction! However, my will power sucks...or I would have lost weight on my own and didn't have to get the lap band to begin with :(

It's not so much that it's will power as it is fear of throwing up. lol Plus, after going through all this surgery (I also had a hiatal hernia repaired at the same time) and losing a month of work, I'm just stubborn and determined to see that number on the scale drop. :-)

Got my first fill today - 1cc...apparently I already had 3 cc in there from the surgery but felt no restriction at all :(. I have another appt in three weeks to check on my progress.

Does anyone know how much Fluid it takes to get into the green zone??

Very very different for everyone....different bodies, different band sizes, there's just not. Standard amount. Some people feel they've hit green with no fills, some max their band out.
