I occasionally run across a post where some one says that they are using diet drugs. I think that sounds lie a pretty good idea while waiting for a fill, does anyone have a dr. that thinks this is ok?

My surgeon says he believes that eventually the lapband program will include the use of diet drugs.

I use Meridia with phentermine, trading off every other day, and it certainly helps. However, I intend to stop with the diet meds once I reach restriction.

I know a lot of meds get thrown at us before many of us go down the lap-band option, would also like to hear what others have been offered. I was offered metformin, which I think is something to do with diabetes? maybe, also tried the old xenical and reductil..........my reduction in appetite never reached the scale it went off the other way heheh!!!

My doctor said we might use them eventually. I've used both reductil and xenical pre-band but only for a while. Reductil took 3 weeks to kick in, I don't see how it would help while waiting for a fill.
