discouraged

Hi all, I am new to this site but have found reading all of the post very helpful. I am a year and a half post banding and have not had alot of weight loss. and for the last 6 months or so I have not had any. My doctor has retired so I need to find a new doctor to look after my band. I feel like I need to be filled but it seems like fills don't keep me restricted for long. Maybe I just have not had enough of a fill yet. I am seeing my doctor on saturday, he has retired but will see his patients every 6 months or so but that makes it hard when you need a fill. so wish me luck, I am hoping for a fill so I can get the weight loss started again. I am so discouraged.

well I had a fill with my Dr. then he gave me my medical records so I could try to find a new doc. I feel like I don't know that much about my band. I keep reading post that say people have a 4cc band and I don't even know how many cc's my band is. I looked through my records an all is says is a 10mm band was placed. I don't know what size that is. My doc filled me to 2cc's which felt good for first couple of days but today I feel less restricted. I need to find a new doctor here in maine or in new hampshire. my current doc as I said in my original note has retired and is only here 4 times a year. so it will be a long time before I can have any contact with him. I don't even have a doc to call if there is a problem. It is scary.....

so if anyone knows how many cc's a 10mm band is I would appreciate it. thanks for all your help and encouraging words, this site is wonderful and I wish I had found it when I first had my surgery.

Whatever you do don't give up!!!! Remember the band is "just" a helper, it won't get you there alone... Get ya a good fill and I bet you will start feeling like you can do this.. Good luck to you, I know how hard the mental side of all this is.
