Port Issues

I was banded 3/3/06 and have some little pains where the port is. This morning I woke up and that area was really hard and I could feel it. Not like the shape, but alot of hard pressure. The pain is actually below the port area. The port is just below my rib cage dead center. Cause for concern or just normal healing things? Your input is welcomed!

i was banded 3/13, my port area is still a little tender, but the tissue around it is very soft and similar to all my other skin. the only tissue irregularity is directly adjacent to the incision, so i am certain it is scar tissue.

i think you should give the doc a buzz just in case, that is why we paid him the big bucks right? his job is to see us through this procedure.

Better safe than sorry, call the doc!! And you know Dr. Spivak's folks are so nice, that they will make you feel comfortable calling!

Just read the date of your post karen, guess i am a little late. i was being banded as you were waking up with port pain...lol....how did it work out?

i've had my band a little longer than most who have responded - I got it in june of 05. I have tiny little pains espcially when i do some exercises when i am twisting. I believe my band is very close to the skin - I mean not really sunk down alot. I can always feel the port. I am going to the doctor in a few weeks and am going to ask if there are any exercise restrictions. I wouldn't want to do something that my harm it.
