I am 27 days post op, does anyone have tips, or suggestions on foods? I have been eating the same thing for a while now and trying to get a variety. I am kind of frusterated with the dietician, she has not responded to any of my emails or messages. I am feeling hungry between meals, so I have my Protein Shakes, I just don't think I am getting enough nutrion. I have not had a fill yet and I don't know if I should be expecting weight loss at this stage but I am just getting frusterated. So any tips, advice would help. Has anyone lost weight during the first month? Or should I be expecting it after a fill. I feel like I can eat more than just 1/2 cup. I dont see the dr for another three weeks.

Thank you

Try adding some solid lean Protein for a snack if you're hungry. liquids are going to pass right through now, so stick with solids if you can. Many people try to aim around 800-1000 calories a day. And many docs say Snacks are okay (you may need them until you start getting fills).

Thank you. That makes sense. I just am trying so hard to not do the wrong thing scared I may over eat and stretch. I just seems like I can eat more and I am trying not to:)

Stick to your portion sizes, but if you're really hungry, I would add another snack or two of healthy foods in. It's going to be really tough until you start getting your fills (we've all been there; hang in there!).

It's very likely you can eat as much as you did before the surgery because you don't have restriction yet. As Shauna pointed out, stick to your portions. It's not easy and can be very frustrating but you will be glad you did down the road. Once you have some restriction after a couple fills it gets MUCH easier.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
