Sore Port?

Hello and thanks in advance for any responses. I was banded in August of 2011 and am down from 271-187lbs. I really haven't had any complications other then having to have some taken out of my band at one point because it was hard to keep liquids down. I feel like I'm close to my green zone, but not quite there. I feel like I can eat a tad more then maybe I should, but I try to control it on my own.

Here is my issue...all of a sudden my port feels a little sore when pushed on. I have 3 kids 3 and under who jump all over me (3 year old twin boys), so I'm not sure if it was hit too hard and is now just a little sore? Or I also do a fitness boot camp a couple of times a week and I played kickball yesterday. Could it gettting hit cause this or should I be concerned it could be more serious? It's not sore unless it's pushed on or hit. Not really when I'm just sitting here. Does that make sense?

Sore ports can be a sign of issues with the band. It doesn't mean that's the case, but I would schedule an appointment with your surgeon asap.

So I called and talked to a nurse, who said to keep an eye on it and call if it got worse, but that it could have been related to some of the physical activity I've done lately (kickball game, boot camp fitness classes, etc), but now I feel like my stomach is swollen. Any thoughts? I'll call back tomorrow for an appointment, but I'm terrified something is wrong and my biggest fear is having to have the band removed for some reason. Anyone out there have something like this happen???

Ive flipped my port three times.. Real sore im the area and felt like a tight muscle after a cramp

THanks for the response. I have a doctor appointment tomororw. At first I was just going to "wait and see" but I'd rather be safe then sorry. I just feel like something isn't right. How do you flip a port and what do they do when that happens?

First time I bent over a metal sink at work and I leaned all my weight into it and it popped loose from the sutures.. They have to open you up at the port site incision flip it over and sew it back in. I was awake for both of my revisions it is painful and smells awful but after a week or so everything is back to normal and your right back on track.
