Did it work right away for you, or did it take your tummy a few days/weeks to settle?
I've got slight pouch dilation which was symptomless, but when I had my tummy tuck, although I could not feel more "restriction" in what I ate, I was tighter and have had heartburn fairly constantly ever since. I've waited it out for swelling and stuff to settle (which it hasn't entirely yet at 8 weeks). However I went in today for a slight unfill of 0.2cc in my 4cc band.
Its been 24 hours since I took a Mylanta 24 hr tablet, and the heartburn is creeping back. I"m wondering if I'm expecting too much thinking the heartburn would be gone within the hour, lol. Although I"m band veteran of 7 years, I've never had this problem before.
Im just sooooo hoping after my horror 2 years with rectal cancer that I don't have to have a FOURTH surgery for a new bloody band if his one has slipped! But the alternative - accepting that my poor gut is just destroyed by chemo - is worse. I also have chronic constipation alternating with diarrhea and all sorts of other bowel issues, the heartburn may not even be band related. I guess that means an endoscopy to check if the heartburn doesn't go away.
Sigh. But on a bright note I don't have actual reflux. No coughing at night, no spitting up acid, I never get stuck or vomit.
