How Many Slips?

How Many people have a slip and have to have surgery. I read that there is 88% chance of a band complication over 3 years and slips are the most common. I am scheduled for surgery in one week. I don't want to go blindly into something that could cause major problems but I want the change so bad. Has anyone else asked their dr how frequent slip rate is? I plan to do so ASAP. Please lete know about slips and if you had one if you still liked the band. Any other info as well. If u have gone yrs without a slip please post also! Trying to gauge things.

I am having it readjusted the symptoms that I had was not being able to eat or drink a anything. I had a cat scan at the hospital two weeks ago I asked the surgeon & he told me that he did know why it had slipped it just happens with a small % of people i I threw up no matter what I tried fluid or food. I am so ready to get back on track. I love the band. & thanks for your concern. :). I will keep y'all posted.

I had the band in 2010 and seemed to be going along fine. I stayed in contact with my doc and his support staff. Went in when needed. I thought something was wrong and went in and even asked about slippage, they told me it was fine, not sure how they knew. Then at Thanksgiving I couldn't even keep down water, I was throwing up everything. The Tuesday after Thanksgiving they finally did an upper GI and said it slipped. I told them to just take it out.

I have gained back almost all of the weight I lost. Total fail.

I'm actually wanting something done, but I'm so scared of any of it again.
