was wondering how much a tummy tuck costs,and does your fund cover it

I'm having a tummy tuck, breast reduction and a bit of lipo on the hips in 3 weeks. I'm paying around $14,000 out of pocket. Medicare and my private health fund are kicking in $1,781.00.

I had heard that they would pay more .. a bit of a downer lol.

I was quoted $3800 by my band surgeon. Apparently, my health fund will cover my hospital stay, and part of the tuck. I have no idea what I will get back from Medicare, but even if I had to pay 100% of that $3800, it is still one cheap tummy tuck.

I am getting about $1500 back from medicare out of $27 000. My Dr said that if you have private cover, he would get as much as he could covered for you by way of back troubles, rashes etc for your tummy and similiar for a reduction.

that would be great,seing what a good job your surgeon has done if i go ahead will use him dont need the breast reduction as i had one a few years ago

i got mine done 3 yrs ago and was all done under medicare:)

went to a public hosp and only had to wait a cpl of weeks

some docs can actually put it down as another name for the op so its covered by medicare.

I have also heard on the grape vine that some lap band docs do it under medicare once you reach there goal weight:)

maybe just ask your band doc
