Steak at 8 days post op.

Recommended Posts

I'm eight days post op and it just occured to me that I can enjoy a juicy steak, if I swallow only juices.

I suppose this is better done at home than at the Outback.

Awright, you had me worried, there. Be careful! Don't compromise your new band for a little steak. It won't be long before you can enjoy small pieces of the real stuff...you have the rest of your life! I DID panic when I read your thread title though. Nice one. LOL

been there - done that! better at home for sure - you only gross out the spouse and kids! Although if you decided to give it a go at Outback, you'd probably have a great quiet table due to the outflux of dining guests. :-)

Haha, shortly after my surgery my hubby made a steak and I dipped at the juice, and then I was overcome with carnivorism and I took a huge bite, chewed on it, sucked out the juice, and spit it out. It was gross that I did that but it satisfied that craving! Happy Bday to you!

Yep, that 8 days 'post-op' got me too.... Something else I did eary was fry bacon very crisp, and chewed it like gum, then spit it out. Sure hit the spot!!

Hey,

I'm from Germany, and many things are different to the USA, but I had to stay with liquid 4 weeks post op. And that for a reason. They found out that the weight loss in the first month post op is initial for the whole weight loss process. So the more u lose in the first weeks, the better u lose weight later on.

U can still eat steaks and other stuff later. I really enjoy having a steak sometimes. Ok, I can only eat a quarter, but that's great (it's what I wanted itsn't it?)!

Greetz, Sabine

The title definitely caught my eye, don't even think about it! The healing time is so important. Tiny bites one day, but NOT any time soon, sorry.

I think the "title" got everyone.....

I had steak last week, 6 1/2 weeks post op, no fill, cut the steak in very small pieces, chewed the heck out of it.... only got three down and it PB's for two hours. I was sooooo sick.

Everyone kept telling me that I had to learn MY band, what MY band wanted and couldn't handle... OK I think I got it now. I am now back to mushies for two weeks to give my stomach a break.

NO MORE STEAK FOR THIS BANDSTER.....

Take it slow.... you don't have to learn the hard way like me:nervous

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
