I would say ....no. I'm a dental hygienist....... you should go see a dentist and make sure about the teeth.

Are you asking about your teeth or someone else?

I'm a fanatic about my teeth. Had my six month check-up today. They usually ask if anything's changed with my health since last time and I was fully prepared to tell them about the band. However, they didn't ask (or notice anything different) and I didn't tell.

This is so weird! I've always had really good white teeth, a week or so after surgery i looked in the mirror in work and my front two teeth and bottom four teeth were all black at the top and going down my teeth. I nearly fainted!

I rushed home, bought a good electric toothbrush and used a whizzer whitening strip. It just went away in a few days.

Totally forgot about it until now!

HI. For the first two weeks post op my teeth felt 'furry' even after a good clean. I did wonder if it was surgery related but forgot to mention it to both the nurse and dietician when they rang. Thanks for mentioning this!:)

I work in the dental field here in Texas, and no I am not a Dentist or Doctor, but the band has nothing to do with teeth turning black. Black teeth are due to a pre-existing condition like decay, discoloration from certain beverages or possible nerve damage within the tooth itself. If you are banded and someone is telling you that you have "black teeth" and that maybe it is due to your diet they are wrong. To put it in laymen's terms......if you have food on your teeth no matter what kind it is and don't brush it off, YA get cavities! :)

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
