Someone tagged me on facebook

I can't seem to get over seeing the pictures I was tagged in from the weekend. Here I am walking around thinking I look so good, etc and then I see those and about die!!! How in the world can I be down almost 50 lbs and still be disgusted at pictures of me? I mean, I like to take pics of myself because I can throw out 50 and keep the one that makes me look skinniest :-) But when others take them from the side, etc.....bad news. I wish the mental part of this wasn't so hard!

we are our worst critics. sometimes the picture we mentally see isn't the actual perception of the picture. does that make sense? i am trying to say that they say TV adds ten pounds, i think so do we when we see a picture of ourselves. love yourself a little more each day and as the pounds go away, hopefully you will like the person you see in the mirror as well as in the photo. even though you may not like the picture, compare it to one 50 pounds ago and take notice of the parts that look thinner. don't be so hard on yourself. congratulations on the weight you lost and keep up the good work. you are doing amazing.

I feel the same way. I've lost 60 pounds and 3 dress sizes, and I still think I look huge! I don't run from cameras like I used to, but pictures of me are really hit or miss. I can look awesome in one, and in another I look like a beluga whale. I have to learn to be nicer to myself!
