Headaches After Lap Band Surgery

I have had my lap- band for 3 years. I am what you call a geriatric bander. I regret having it placed and can't wait to get it out of my body. It has been a plague. I have been sick and plagued with migraines and chronic sinusitis since. Being a nurse and just to note, I try to discourage anyone from having this done. It's also painful everytime I eat. " They" have checked it many times and never seem to find anything wrong with it. If I can give any advice at all, save yourself from all that exposure to radiation from fills and do it right the first time.... Have a gastric sleeve! Thank you! And I thought this was going to make me healthier? I can't even work now, the migraines are so bad...It has ruined my life!

Thank you for your motivational post. Sorry it didn't work out for you. It's working great for me and I love it! I hope the sleeve cures what ails you

My headaches have stopped since I got banded. I used to get a couple a week - now none.

  • 3 weeks later...

I too never suffered from headaches. Last April they started. I was banded in May 2009. I have seen neuro. and have had a neg MRI. I also have seen a chroiprac., nothing has helped. The headaches are with or after eating. Also have seen a dental specialist as well as TMJ...Just now I have begun to believe it could be related to lap band. I have lost 70 pounds very slowly and am happy with results..but these h/a are awful. I have a diagnosis of trigeminal neuralgia by exclusion but I do not believe I have this...Any input is so welcome.
