You can eat today.... i was told when i had my surgery that on the day before that i could. Just try to eat what you want before 6pm.... trust me,your liver had done all the shrinking it's going to do by now. That is the whole purpose of the pre-op diet.

GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Byrd I would NEVER take it upon myself to tell someone it's okay to eat. Do not eat! Call your surgeons office & ask them what you should do. Drink a protein shake, those are very filling. Just keep up with the liquids! You want to be as healthy as possible on the day of your surgery.

I can have only clear liquids:(I was specifically told that, after midnight, I can't have so as a piece of gum. I'm just really hungry right now but tomorrows coming fast and I'm looking forward to it!:)

First of all I would like to apologize if i offended anyone with my statement... no harm intended... i was only speaking on what i was told by my doctor and my advocate, before my surgery. I really don't won't to make any enemies on this site, because this site is very helpful for me also. But please understand that everyone on here is grown !!!and there is no need to comment back in a rude manner. That was my personal advise....

I hope you be ok

Hey thanks for the concern:)

I could only have clear liquids the day before my surgery and absolutely nothing after 8pm. Was I starving? YES absolutely! But I was willing to deal with a headache, crabiness and hunger because I knew the next morning was my chance at a new life and I wasn't going to do anything to mess it up. It's 100% worth it...please don't do anything that your Dr. didn't tell you about. I was banded on 10/4, I lost 10 on the pre op diet and have lost another 9 in the last two weeks. It's sooo worth it...go to bed early. That's what I did to get away from the thoughts and hunger.
