So sorry to hear that, maybe time for a meds dosage change? I did have to change to a totally different med as my smaller body could not handle the dosage and I just wanted to sleep all day and I can not do that as I have to work and I pick up my Grandkids from school and keep them a couple of hours on the weekdays and then when they go home, back to work for a few hours. But I would love to get in my bed and never get out.

Also maybe seeing a new counselor who can help you see how great you look, working on your body image. Depression is so horrible, so you will be in my prayers. One reason for getting the band is that being overweight and having depression was too much for me to handle, and no matter what I did, I can not change it but the weight I could lose with some help. How does your wife handle it? I feel so sorry for my husband as he wants to help but nothing he can do, I hope soon you can find more happiness and see yourself as others who do not even know you do. You look very handsome and it may take time but one day you will see it too. If people did not think you looked good they would just read and move on without any reply. I have been married 31 years but only dealing with depressions about 7 years. So much shame comes with depression. But remember it takes the mind a while to catch up with the body sometimes. Maybe pack your wife up and go on a vacation just the two of you! Best wishes!

Thanks again for your kind words. You have been so very thoughtful. As far as depression treatments, I have been on about 50+ different meds and none of them have ever helped. I have been told that I just don't respond to meds, so I am kind of on my own. As far as a therapist, I had a REALLY good one, but then I moved away and got married and haven't been able to find one I like yet. I have suffered from depression sicne childhood due to abusive parents and have been on disability because of it since 2004.

My wife is very compassionate and accepting of my lot in life and very loving when I am down. However, she can't help much in the weight department as she also struggles with weight issues, but doesn't want/ can't afford the lapband. Mine was covered 100% through Medicare or I wouldn't have been able to get it.

We actually just got back from a 7-day Caribbean cruise! YAY! But now back to real life.

Again, THANK YOU for your kind words!!!

Thank you so much! Your kind words are very meaningful! And you can do ANYTHING!!! Good luck! When do you get banded?

AWESOME!!!!!! I'm almost to my 100 pound loss mark too, and it's SO EXCITING! You did such a good job, and you look great. I noticed your tattoo too. It doesn't look bad. I've been a little worried about my tattooos moving... I have over 20 of them.
