I must be doing something wrong.

Okay, so I had the lap band surgery on August 30th 2011 and it went perfectly. I got home and was dropping weight (24 lbs within the first 2 weeks). I suspect this was simply due to the liquid diet that followed the surgery. Fast forward, it is no October 13th 2011 and I'm staying staying right about 257 and can't seem to get bellow that dispite walking everyday. I have lost inches however. I am now considering trying NutriSystem or Weight Watchers to help. Anyone have any suggestions on how to start getting the weight to start going down? I must be doind something wrong.

you're not doing anything wrong. you lost in the beginning due to the swelling in your stomach and the liquid diet. Now you are probably eating semowhat normal and have a normal appetite. This time before your fills is for healing, not losing. This is the way the band works. you need to have some fills and get to your green zone. you will start losing again. What you are experiencing is VERY normal.

My mind set during this time went something like this: Get fill and I know I'l lose in the first few days, then just maintain that weight loss until the next fill because I know I'm not at optimal restriction yet. I've had 3 fills, and looking forward to my 4th! I have started to lose somewhat consistently, but I am not at my green zone just yet.
