Just had my first pb episode

I am only 4 weeks post op and had my first fill a week ago. 2 bites in and I knew I was in trouble. It is still happening as I am typing this. I am using the little pink vomit thing they gave me in the hospital. Right now it seems to be only saliva coming up, so I think that means I am still stuck. I don't think I will ever look at hotdogs in the same way again.

hotdogs are definitely not a good food this soon out. i am 4.5 months out now and can eat them, but only if they are diced up. my advice, small pieces, and chew, chew, chew. usually only takes one vomiting episode to learn. :)

it will get better. mine was with fried chicken several weeks ago, still can't eat it yet :)

Yes, I've heard from two other people who have the band that hot dogs can be very problematic. I didn't eat them prior to getting the band, so I don't have personal experience. Have you gotten your first fill yet?

Yes. I had a 3cc fill a week ago.

And it happened today again at work with some tuna salad. It was not as bad, but I ended up not having lunch. I think I am going to go back to mushies for a few days.

I don't know from personal experience but I hear that once you have an episode, you need to go back on liquids for a day or so to let you stomach calm down. Good luck
