Help!! No restriction on band lately

I got my band on 25th June this year. I'm still waiting on my first fill, long story, not very happy about this. In the last week I've noticed all my food is going down very easy! Now I could feel a log of foods h

Going down and stopping at the band and then going through but this week that feeling I gone. I just ate White bread purposely to get it stuck and it didn't! I didn't even feel ic going down. I'm starting to get really worried the band has opened!! Can that happen??? I've had a a few stuck moments but nothing major. Please put my mind at ease, has this happened to you??? Very stressed and down over this and wondering why I paid €8000 for nothing!!!!

Hi!

You're very fortunate that you had any restriction at all before a fill. I was disappointed the first 5 mths after getting my band because I could eat virtually anything and I didn't feel any different. I could eat a medium Quiznos sandwich with a bowl of broccoli cheddar Soup and not feel full. It took until my 4th fill to feel anything close to restriction. It was 5 mths after having my band placed. It's been 20 mths now, 5 fills, and I've lost 97 lbs. I just got a fill 2 weeks ago after not having 1 for a yr (my 4th fill lasted a yr) and now I'm even more perfect than I was. I'm back to losing.

Don't get too discouraged. It may take a while to get proper restriction. In fact, I doubt that you had restriction at all - you probably had swelling after your surgery that tightened your stomach. This is what they call "bandster hell". Be patient. You WILL have success! Good luck to you!

Ah thank you that makes me feel better. I was talking to a friend of mine who's had 2 fills and she said the same, its probably the swelling has eventually gone down. I really got upset over it. They cancelled my fill and I have to wait another week for it(9 weeks in total) and I'm pulling my hair out. I've calmed down today and I'm trying to take it day by day. Just finding it hard, I have never experienced mood swings like this before! Thank you for answering my post x
