Profile: reputation score

There is something on the Lap Band forum profiles that says "reputation" and then gives a score. Does anyone know what this means, how it is calculated etc? Just curious.

    Look in the lower left corner of the posting....there's a green circle with a plus sign, a red circle with a negative sign and then a square with the total on postings other than your own.

    If you like or agree, I guess you can push those buttons.......I first noticed them when I posted something that wasn't popular with others........
