who has maximum fill

I was wondering how many people have their band filled to the maximum, and if they feel they are tight enough.

I had my band done a year ago and have almost maximum fill, and doubt it will ever be tight enough.

If you have a leak, is there any physical signs? ( that might be another thread).

Best wishes, Rachel.

I have the 4cc and I am at 3 and for some reason I can eat more this time at three. I am thinking about asking for more just to feel real tightness. The doctor said that this would make me tight enough. But I don't think so..

I am not at max but I have the 10ml band and I have 9.6mls. It took me getting to this point to have decent lasting restriction. My Dr said the higher you get the less amount it takes to feel some restriction..ie If I had another fill maybe .3 or .4 would top me up whereas getting to this stage would take a fill of 2 or 3 mls to feel anything.

I lso have a friend who has the same band she had her band topped up to 12mls 2 weeks ago and has restriction FINALLY...but still not the "sweet" spot. She has had tests and endos etc done and everything is fine...its just taking her longer.

Good Luck

NOt yet but I have only been banded for 4 months, have lost about 25 pounds, and have at least 60 to go. I am at 8 cc's in a 12 cc band (according to my dr.).

I have 3 cc's in a 4 cc band. Not sure yet if I need more fill, but doc says it can really hold 5 cc's.

What kind of experiences did you have with Dr. Maese? I got my first fill from him and didn't have any problems. My wife's port had flipped and our surgeon didn't put much effort into trying to correct it. He wanted to do a "minor" procedure ($11,000) to flip it, Dr. Maese did it with a small needle and did a fill for her all in about a minute. My experience with hm so far has been really good.

Unfortunately, I don't know how much is in my band. The surgeon and I agreed last visit that at least one of my earlier visits may not have been successfully injected into the band. I have a 10ml band and the last fill should have taken me to 12ml OMG. He put 3ml and overfilled me and took 2 out. I guess I'll never know but figure I'm around 1ml off the 'sweet spot'.

I don't want the fill withdrawn and reinjected as this can change the 'pleating' inside the band.

That was the best thing I ever did! I had all the fill withdrawn last week and then reinjected with a bit more. I had been having problems with pain on the first bite of food, now it's gone.   Still need more fill, I am afraid I'm heading for max. Dr says no way will I not be restricted at max, but I'm skeptical.

I have 5cc's in my 4cc band!!.. my doctor could not get anymore saline into my band... I am filled to the brim!!!..

And to answer your question... Yes.. I have wonderful restriction.

I was really worried that after 5 fills that I would never have restriction.

BUT I DO!!!

About 5 weeks ago I had my first fill of 2.2 ccs (4 cc band). I didn't feel any restriction. Then I got another 2 cc fill and now I feel moderate restriction but nothing crazy dramatic. I wonder if something is wrong with me.

Interesting stuff - thanks for the replies. I feel more positive that I will eventually get there.

Best wishes, Rachel.
