Heartburn & Upper GI Endoscopy

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! I am 25 years old. I had my surgery 13 months ago. I've lost 80 lbs so far. I try to follow all of the rules and be a good bandster. But lately, I have had bad heartburn. I haven't been able to keep anything down since it started a couple days ago. I went to the doctor and he scheduled an upper GI endoscopy this Friday. Has anyone else had any problems with heartburn with their band? Has anyone ever had an upper endoscopy? I'm supposed to be sedated, so I guess it should be too bad. I know a lot of this is stress. I'm a teacher, and my district is cutting jobs, so I'm worried about that. Plus my family has been giving me a lot of problems about my boyfriend lately. It's just all so much. To make it worse, my lapband doctor's machine is down, so he can't unfill me at all. I'm basically on liquids, and I'm even having trouble keeping THEM down!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
