Last summer I strained a muscle close to my port playing volleyball. My surgeon recommended taking motrin (I know, some surgeons say no NSAIDS, but mine says they are fine and I haven't had any trouble with them) and trying to avoid movement that irritates it. It was tricky and annoying, but in about a week the area was feeling better. Thankfully, it hasn't happened again since.

Good luck,

Kortni
